Our Story

Established in 2019 in Sydney by Valentina Borin, ALTRA creates unisex jewellery that melds natural & architectural shapes with precious gemstones, handpicked for their unique properties. We believe in making jewellery that feels different to any piece you’ve ever worn.

Valentina Borin's first career was in the Italian fashion industry from 2005 - 2016 where she developed an eye for beauty while coordinating multiple collections every year. Yearning for something beyond her roots, she moved to Australia and discovered her passion for jewellery. Melding her tradition with the modern culture of Australia, ALTRA was born.

Sustainability & Production:
Using high-quality metals, semi-precious and precious stones; Valentina ensures ethical and sustainable practices by sourcing all her materials from Morris and Watson. Morris and Watson are certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council to not support activities that benefit conflict, violence and human rights abuses. The majority of their precious metal products are produced using recycled gold & silver from other Jewellers in the industry, along with local mines from within Australasia. ALTRA pieces are made with the highest quality materials to ensure you are left with a piece that will last a lifetime.

With ALTRA you are choosing to spend your money with a conscious designer and create a lifetime bond. If you are not 100% satisfied with one of our products at the time you receive it, or if your piece doesn't fit ALTRA will repair, replacement, or refund.
